NIGERIA: SSG, Attorney General, Two Others Quit Gov Akpabio’s Cabinet

The Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Udom Emmanuel and three others on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, resigned from the state executive council.

Others are the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekpenyong Ntekim; the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Pastor Ita Udo and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Iboro Ekanem.
The quartet resigned from their positions to further their political ambition in 2015.
The Peoples Democratic Party had earlier asked political officer holders with 2015 political ambition to resign from their positions before the end of this month.

The state’s governor, Godswill Akpabio, while receiving letters from the departing state’s executive committee members at the Governor’s Office, Uyo, Tuesday, congratulated them for the bold step they had taken and wished them success in their political career.

He urged other exco members to support the quartet in their 2015 aspiration.
